Overview

The UPD Scholarship Program was established in 2013 to further the goals and mission of the honor society and recognize students for academic excellence. Beginning in September 2014, several five hundred dollar scholarships will be awarded to UPD chapters based on available funds. Chapter recipients will disperse monies at their discretion to one deserving student within the chapter.

Scholarship Eligibility

AUPHA member programs who have established an active UPD chapter are eligible to receive the award. Active chapter is defined as follows:

  • In compliance with the UPD Policies and Procedures
  • Current on AUPHA membership and UPD chapter dues
  • Induction of students for at least one academic year prior to receiving the award
  • Successful submission of current year’s inductees to AUPHA via the online submission form (not later than May 15)

Selection Process

AUPHA will randomly select several chapter recipients, and all eligible chapters will have the opportunity to receive the award before any chapters may receive it a second time. Selected chapters will choose the most deserving student inductee to receive the scholarship at their program.

Use of Upsilon Phi Delta Scholarship Funds

Student recipients currently enrolled in a healthcare management program should use the award for education-related expenses, including tuition, books and/or materials, or room and board. For graduating students, the award is intended for educational or professional development opportunities, including registration fees, travel expenses, or professional attire.
