After another busy fall, AUPHA is taking a much-needed break from scheduled Zoom meetings beginning Thursday, December 18 until Tuesday, January 6. This hiatus will also accommodate the holiday closing of AUPHA's office beginning Monday, December 22. We will return to the office formally on Monday, January 5 . The Quint Studer Gratitude Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes individuals from AUPHA member programs for outstanding teaching and mentoring; leadership in educational programming and pedagogy; and dissemination of innovative and promising practices for teaching and mentoring, and course and curriculum development. AUPHA will soon change the names of Program Member types to better reflect the programs represented. Current Type New Type Associate Graduate Associate Master's Full Graduate Full Master's Associate Undergraduate Associate Bachelor's Full Certified Undergraduate Full Bachelor's The Associate Doctoral Member type name will not change. The names will be changed gradually over the next few months on the AUPHA website and in documents. Beginning in 2026, programs interested in pursuing initial undergraduate certification will be required to first enter candidacy status to ensure they are ready for this rigorous peer-review process. AUPHA will host a candidacy status information session on Thursday, January 15, 2026, 3:30-5:00PM Eastern time. All associate undergraduate program members are invited to attend to learn more about the candidacy process, which opens for the first time in January 2026. In June 2025, AUPHA released two updated publications: the Body of Knowledge (BOK) and Curriculum Guidance (CG) . Members can access both of these documents once they are logged into the Network. AUPHA has created two surveys for members to provide constructive feedback on these documents. The first allows members to submit recommended resources for the domains of the BOK and topics of the CG. The second allows members to share comments on the specific content of the domains and/or topics. Having these mechanisms for continuous feedback ensures that time-sensitive improvements can be made immediately, rather than waiting for the next round of revisions. ...

AUPHA recently published the 2025 Program Directors Manual , which updates the information found in the 2010 version. The new Manual has information for undergraduate and master’s level program directors, including chapters on managing students, faculty, and other stakeholders. As a member-only benefit, only individual members or those who are members through their program may access the Manual.
