Bio

LTC Tiara Walz, PhD, MHA, MBA, MSEd is the Deputy Program Director and an Assistant Professor at the Army-Baylor University Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration. She has over 17 years of service as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Army. Her Ph.D. work focuses on chronic pain in the veteran population and impacts on healthcare utilization and expenditures on an individual and systems level in the United States. She graduated from Oregon State University with her doctorate in 2023, and the Army-Baylor Program with her MHA and MBA in 2017.

LTC Walz's work and research focus on addressing health disparities among veterans, military servicewomen, and other marginalized groups through the lens of policy and public health. LTC Walz is currently serving as the Army Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a fellow in the college. She is a Fellow in CAHME. She is also passionate about networking, teaching, healthcare leadership, and improving quality of life for servicemembers, their families, and the veteran population in the US. 

Tiara teaches Population Health, Organizational Behavior and Theory, Health Policy, and Health Insurance and Managed Care Systems at Army-Baylor. She is also the lead for Accreditation and serves as the Marketing Committee Chair, managing the Annual Stakeholder Report, and social, community, and alumni engagement.
