The Certificate for Teaching in Healthcare Management provides recognition to faculty committed to continuous learning and improvement related to the art and craft of teaching.
Requirements
There are three requirements to earn the Certificate for Teaching in Healthcare Management:
- 15 credits total
- Courses are divided into 3-credit and 6-credit offerings
- One 6-credit course
- Inclusive Excellence and Belonging: Creating and Sustaining an Environment in Which All Learners Thrive
Coursework towards the certificate must be completed within a three-year period. Once an individual has earned the certificate, it remains valid for two years. Individuals may renew their certificate by completing 15 continuing education credits within that two year period.
Continuing education may come from the following sources:
- Additional ATI coursework
- AUPHA webinars that have been identified as conferring ATI CEU credits (typically 1 credit per webinar)
- AUPHA Annual Meeting sessions that have been identified as conferring ATI CEU credits (typically 1-2 credits per session)
- Portions of AUPHA's Academic Program and Practitioner Workshop that have been identified as conferring ATI CEU credits (typically 1-3 credits)
In rare circumstances, credits may be conferred by webinars or workshops offered outside of AUPHA. These credits will be processed at a fee of $15 per credit. Individuals should submit requests for external CEU credits to Jenn Munt at jmunt@aupha.org by providing an explanation of the event, how it applies to continuing education for the certificate, and proof of attendance.
