Bio

Dr. Fatma M. AbdelSalam is an Assistant Professor of Population Health Leadership and Analytics at the University of Texas at Tyler, where she is dedicated to educating the next generation of healthcare leaders. With a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, her research focuses on the intersection of technology and organizational strategy, including the adoption of blockchain, AI, and IoT in healthcare systems. 
Prior to her academic career, Dr. AbdelSalam served as the Population Health and Clinical Operations Manager at Centene Corporation, where she managed a portfolio of digital health solutions and led analytics efforts to inform strategic recommendations for chronic condition management. Her experience also includes roles in strategic business development and quality improvement at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where she utilized methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis, and Agile to drive sustainable improvements. A Fellow of both the American College of Health Data Management (FACHDM) and the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (FISQua), Dr. AbdelSalam brings a unique perspective that integrates frontline clinical experience with high-level strategy, quality management, and digital innovation.
