It’s not too late to register for AUPHA’s 2025 Academic Program and Practitioner Workshop (APPW), scheduled to be held in Houston, Texas, March 25 th . The Workshop opens with the AUPHA/ACHE Joint Breakfast Keynote, featuring Joanne M. Conroy, MD, Darthmouth Health, and will be followed by two panels focusing on The Human Element in the Digital Age: Reinforcing Essential Skills in Healthcare Management . Both segments of the APPW will be held at the Marriott Marquis Houston. Congratulations to all whose proposals were accepted for presentation at this year’s Annual Meeting. Competition was fierce with an acceptance rate of around 50%. A few important reminders for presenters: Please acknowledge your acceptance of the Speaker Agreement form to jstephens@aupha.org no later than March 23, 2025 . The deadline for speakers to register for the Annual Meeting is April 15, 2025 . All speakers need to be registered for the full Annual Meeting. AUPHA’s 2025 Annual Meeting, scheduled to be held at the Hilton Columbus Downtown , Columbus, Ohio, is just a bit less than three months away. In response to suggestions from the membership (yes, we listen!), a few changes have been made to this year’s meeting schedule. The meeting has been shortened from three to two and one-half days; it will end on Thursday, June 19th, at 12:15PM. The business meeting will be held virtually over Zoom on Wednesday, June 11th, 1:00 – 2:15PM, to afford those individuals who may not be able to travel to Columbus the opportunity to view the session. AUPHA has released a new request for proposals (RFP) for the development of a course for Department Chairs, offered through the Leadership Academy. This course specifically focuses on the benefits and challenges of serving as a department chair. It allows for interactive, candid conversation about best practices and provides useful resources for participants to use in their work in this role. AUPHA is pleased to announce the Certificate for Leadership in Healthcare Management Education, offered through the Leadership Academy. This new credential provides recognition to faculty committed to continuous learning and improvement related to academic leadership. It also helps prepare those without existing experience to take on new leadership roles within academia. To earn the Certificate for Leadership in Healthcare Management Education, participants must earn 16 credits through the Leadership Academy. AUPHA is assembling Undergraduate Certification Review teams for the 2025-2026 cycle. For the first time, the cycle has been divided into two rounds – one in the fall and one in the spring. Please consider volunteering as a member of a review team for one (or both) of these rounds. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the certification process while gaining insight into other programs’ operations and structure. Each team consists of six members: one chair, one scribe, two reviewers, and two assistant reviewers.
