AUPHA is pleased to announce its fourth Teaching Excellence Award, the Teaching Excellence Award for Practice Management and Ambulatory Care. This award, established by AUPHA and sponsored by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), will be presented at AUPHA’s 2023 Annual Meeting, scheduled to be held in National Harbor, Maryland, June 29 th through July 1 st . Applications for the 2023 Glandon Family Scholarship for Advancement of Healthcare Management Education are now being accepted. The scholarship is awarded to a faculty member from an undergraduate program in one year and from a graduate program the alternative year. The 2023 Glandon Family Scholarship will be awarded to faculty from an undergraduate program member. Applicants must be a full time faculty member from an AUPHA undergraduate program. On behalf of the Medical University of South Carolina, I am thrilled to announce that our very own Dr. Dan Gentry is the recipient of the 2022 MUSC Distinguished Alumnus Award in Health Administration. We couldn't be prouder to see Dan recognized for this incredible honor! Dan graduated from MUSC's MHA program in 1990. He went on to earn a PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis from the University of California at Berkeley. Larry Wrobel transitioned to his well-deserved retirement at the end of July and we welcomed Adam Andersen, as the new UIC MHA Program Director on August 16, 2022. We are so grateful for Larry's years of service as a member of the faculty (since 2012) and his leadership in directing the MHA program (since 2016). Our faculty are so thrilled for our students when they see them chart a path to achieve the goals they set out to accomplish. This week, our inaugural cohort defended their capstone projects, culminating in their final educational milestone of their student journeys at CNU. After a very busy fall, AUPHA is taking a needed break from scheduled Zoom meetings beginning Thursday, December 15th through Wednesday, January 4th. This hiatus will also accommodate the holiday closing of AUPHA's office beginning Friday, December 23rd. We will return to the office on Wednesday, January 4th. We wish all of our friends and colleagues a happy holiday season, with all good wishes for the coming year.

AUPHA was pleased to participate in the 2022 Health Professions Week (HPW) from November 5 th to 11 th . AUPHA, along with over twenty other healthcare related organizations, offered a week of free, virtual content for students interested in healthcare careers. Over 2500 students registered for the event, and participated in panels, webinars, online games/activities, and a virtual fair. Much of the content is stored on the HPW YouTube and Instagram accounts, and is available for everyone to access year round.
