Each year, AUPHA convenes three signature meetings that unite leaders from academia and practice to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance healthcare management education. This spring season is one of the most energizing times for our community.
The AUPHA APPW @ ACHE Congress, Houston
The Academic Program and Practitioner Workshop (APPW) will take place Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, as part of the ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership.
The day begins with the joint ACHE/AUPHA breakfast keynote, “Leading with Stamina: Purposeful Resilience in a Shifting Healthcare Landscape,” delivered by Edward Jimenez, MBA, President and CEO of Main Line Health. Interactive panels will extend the dialogue on leadership preparation and strengthening alignment between academic programs and healthcare employers.
The AUPHA APPW remains one of the most important bridges between classroom and practice.
AUPHA Academic Forum @ HIMSS-26, Las Vegas
The 21st AUPHA Academic Forum will be held March 9, 2026, at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, in conjunction with the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition.
For more than two decades, the Forum has explored the intersection of healthcare management and health information systems education, digital innovation, and leadership. It offers educators a vital opportunity to align curricula with a rapidly evolving healthcare environment while connecting with leaders shaping the future of health technology.
Last year’s Forum set an all-time high attendance record and this year’s Forum received the largest number of abstract submissions in the Forum’s 21 year history. There will be two keynote talks and 14 peer-reviewed educational and research presentations.

AUPHA Annual Meeting, San Diego
Our flagship event, the 2026 AUPHA Annual Meeting, will be held June 9–11, 2026, at the Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego.
This year’s theme — “Future Fluent by Design: Developing Leaders for a Transforming World” — challenges us to intentionally prepare graduates who can anticipate change, lead innovation, and thrive in complex systems. The meeting will feature educational sessions, collaborative forums, keynote speakers, and meaningful networking across bachelors, master’s, and doctoral program leaders, faculty, and staff.
