Bio

Dr. Schultz is married to Cheryl DeFusco Schultz and have two children. He received his doctorate in Public Health with a focus on epidemiology in 2015. He is the published author of Predictors of Physician Use of the new NIA Alzheimers Assessment Protocols which utilized a quantitative study approach examining sole source data collected through his survey instrument. Additionally, he utilized the diffusion of innovation theory describing how his theory and current data would advance the knowledge of Alzheimers disease and early detection of Alzheimers with an in office physician test. He redefined the diagnostic term Alzheimers disease found in both the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) as well as the International Classification of Disease (ICD editions 8, 9, and 10) to Classic Alzheimers Disease Symptoms (CADS). He conceptualized, defined, and successfully defended CADS during his oral defense. Dr. Schultz identified a gap in the current diagnostic process, definitions in ICD 8 and 9 editions, scientific medical journals, and the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) defining or using the term Alzheimers for living patients. He postulated the need for earlier detection of Alzheimers disease and encourages the use of in office tests now available for the earlier detection of Alzheimers as defined by the new National Institute of Aging criteria, testing, insurance codes used (ICD) and related definitions.
