Define diversity
Identify different groups within the healthcare workforce and patient population
Explain trends, similarities and differences, in the US healthcare patient population and workforce, including gender, racial, ethnic, geographical, age, and religious characteristics
Graduate
students should also be able to
Apply the knowledge of the different groups to develop strategies for dealing with conflict and empowering and motivating the workforce
Apply the information to properly manage the delivery of culturally competent care
Relate diverse patient populations to stakeholder constituencies
