Faculty Forums

Faculty Forums are central to AUPHA's mission, bringing together faculty from diverse programs with common interests. Faculty Forums exist primarily as online communities who meet annually at AUPHA's Annual Meeting.  Within the Forums, faculty exchange ideas, engage in dialogue and pursue research in healthcare administration education. 

The following Faculty Forums are open to all AUPHA members:

Scholarships & Prizes

The Glandon Family Scholarship for Advancement of Healthcare Management Education
The Glandon Family Scholarship for Advancement of Healthcare Management Education was established to create an endowment for a faculty scholarship at an AUPHA member program with the intent of creating a durable legacy in support of quality healthcare management education. The first Glandon Family Scholarship to be awarded in 2020 will be awarded to a faculty from a graduate program member.

The William B. Graham Prize for Health Services Research

The Baxter International Foundation Prize for Health Services Research is the most prestigious and highly regarded recognition an individual researcher can receive in a career of health services research. Funded by the Baxter International Foundation, the prize consists of a $25,000 prize to the winner and a $25,000 contribution to the institution of the winner's choice. Nomination Process

Filerman Prize for Educational Leadership 
The Filerman Prize recognizes pedagogical excellence among AUPHA member faculty. Each year an outstanding faculty member at an AUPHA member program receives this honor from his/her colleagues in recognition of their contribution to the field of health administration education. John D. Thompson Prize for Young Investigators 
The Thompson Prize recognizes young investigators based on their contributions to the research literature in the field of health services. The Prize is awarded to a faculty member from an AUPHA member program whose work may be in any of the several fields or disciplines contributing to knowledge in health services. Faculty members at AUPHA can access a wealth of resources devoted to enhancing teaching methodology and curriculum development. Additionally, AUPHA offers resources and opportunities to support the professional development of instructors, professors and program directors.

Journal of Health Administration Education

The Journal of Health Administration Education is an international journal that chronicles advances in the education of health services managers and key policy issues for the field. Published quarterly, the Journal provides a forum for the presentation of health services research as it relates to the educational process, the communication of innovative approaches to formal education and management development in health services administration, and the review of new books from the perspective of educators.
