About Leaders Conference

AUPHA is excited to hold its annual Leaders Conference in partnership with the American College of Healthcare Executives during their 2010 Congress on Healthcare Leadership.

On Tuesday, March 23, 2010 leaders from practice and academe will convene at the AUPHA Leaders Conference to discuss and exchange the latest developments in educating future healthcare leaders. AUPHA is dedicated to increasing management skills in the industry through our work with the leading educational programs in healthcare management and our partnerships and communication with the leaders in practice.

The meeting will begin with a joint AUPHA/ACHE Breakfast. Our featured presentation, “Advancing Education for Evidence-Based Healthcare Management”, will be given by John Griffith, MBA, of University of Michigan. Professor Griffith will discuss a vision for improving healthcare management education, accreditation, and health industry performance utilizing evidence-based management as the core principle of a program’s curriculum and educational objectives, as well as the standard for professional performance.

This complimentary breakfast is designed for healthcare executives and faculty who are in a position to influence and prepare future leaders in the healthcare field. Immediately following breakfast, the resulting reaction panel discussion will explore how we can improve healthcare management programs as well as student assessment criteria.  To round out the meeting, there will be two sets of educational and informative concurrent sessions.
