Corris Boyd Scholars Program

This program was established in 2006 in honor of Corris Boyd, Senior Executive Vice President of Supplier Diversity for HealthTrust Purchasing Group who passed away on December 19, 2005.  He was also part of the leadership team of the HCA Pacific Group, an assistant vice president with HCA Corporate in Nashville, a commissioned ROTC officer, and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

The Corris Boyd Scholars Program will provide two $40,000 scholarships to deserving minority students entering Master's Degree programs at AUPHA full member, CAHME accredited programs.

The Foster G. McGaw Scholarship

The Foster G. McGaw Scholarship provides financial support to graduate students in health administration. Scholarship funds are awarded each year to all AUPHA full graduate programs. The faculty within these programs disperse these monies at their discretion to students most deserving of recognition.

More than 900 scholarships have been awarded since the program was established in 1975. The scholarship was endowed by Foster G. McGaw, founder of the American Hospital Supply Corporation. McGaw recognized the importance of health administration education and AUPHA’s contribution to the field.

For more information on this scholarship, please see your Program Director. McGaw Funds are made available only to AUPHA Full Member Programs.

Bugbee Falk Book Award

In recognition of the lifetime accomplishments of George Bugbee and Isidore S. Falk, M.D., AUPHA annually bestows the Bugbee Falk Book Award to a group of outstanding students in our member programs. The book award is an innovative way to support tomorrow’s leaders by providing them with works by respected authors in the field. The books are intended to launch the student’s professional library.

Eligibility:
Students at programs that are members of AUPHA are eligible to receive this award. AUPHA selects several programs each year to receive the award. Actual student recipients are selected by the program. Students from seven programs receive the award each year.
